About Coach Whitfield

Coach Whitfield currently serves as an Assistant Coach for the College of San Mateo Women’s Basketball program. He is highly regarded for his ability to develop players at every level and currently trains middle school, high school, college, FIBA, and professional athletes. Coach Whitfield is also actively involved in USA Basketball’s Youth Development Program, contributing to the growth of the game nationwide.

His coaching journey began at a young age, starting with coaching his sister from 4th grade through her freshman year in both school and club basketball. He gained widespread recognition after taking over the Jefferson High School Girls Basketball Program, where he led the Grizzlies to the most successful postseason run in school history during his first season. Continued success followed, along with notable impact at the AAU level, where he developed players to compete against elite national competition.

Previously, Coach Whitfield has coached with the Cal Stars Nike EYBL, BullDawgs AAU, and Student Athlete World USA overseas. Basketball runs deep in his family, with multiple female cousins who have competed at the NCAA Division I level, and others who have played collegiate basketball.
