Founded by Coach Emmett Whitfield, Whitfield Basketball Academy launched in the summer of 2025 with a bold vision: to revolutionize youth development through the game of basketball—locally in the Bay Area, and on a national and international scale.
Our mission is to use basketball as a powerful platform to shape strong individuals and future leaders, both on and off the court. We are committed to providing an exceptional experience for every athlete, family, and supporter who joins us on this journey.

About
Coach Whitfield
Coach Whitfield currently serves as an assistant coach for the College of San Mateo Women’s Basketball program. He also coached with the Cal Stars Nike EYBL program and also serves as a head coach for Student Athlete World USA as they compete internationally overseas. Coach Whitfield also is in the Youth Development program for USA Basketball. He trains Middle School, High School, College, FIBA, and Professional Athletes. Previously, Coach Whitfield was part of the BullDawgs AAU program and also led the Jefferson High School Girls Basketball team to its most successful postseason run in school history. Coach Whitfield has over 5 female cousins that have played basketball at the NCAA Division 1 level.
